Our Aims

To provide an education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England with the governors and staff working together in the context of a caring Christian community.

To provide as wide a variety of experiences as possible which will also ensure the fulfilment of the National Curriculum and the Foundation Stage Curriculum so that each child has the opportunity to attain his/her maximum potential.

To provide a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum to enable children to develop skills and acquire knowledge through experiential learning and direct teaching.

To help children to develop independence of thought and an ability to make decisions and to become independent learners.

Through working together, to attain continuity and progression in relation to approach, method and attitude.

To foster each child’s ability to work both independently, co-operatively and collaboratively.

To encourage the development of the whole child, recognising individual needs, whilst valuing the contribution each child makes to the school.

To help children acquire a set of moral values and self-discipline and also to encourage the awareness of self and sensitivity so they can come to see the need for truth, courtesy and consideration for others.

To develop social responsibility and awareness of the community and environment.

To encourage positive attitudes towards others, both in school and in the wider community and to respect the traditions and cultures of others.

To forge close relationships between home, school and community, through open communication, to enhance mutual trust and co-operation.

To create a warm and welcoming atmosphere where all feel happy and secure within a caring and supportive environment.
